Founding Story
Project 2035 was founded with the belief that it is unjust for so many to live in severe poverty when the world has more than enough resources to help everyone. Through studying the approach taken by most humanitarian aid organizations, while well-intentioned and admirable, our founder identified six key factors which limit their success.
Recognizing these challenges, Francis Mora founded Project 2035 driven by our mission of bringing justice to those who are not given a fair chance in life. Coming from a working class background in a very wealthy country, he has experienced firsthand the difficulties people face in life and their restrictions in choosing their own path because of financial constraints and lack of support.
At Project 2035 we believe that all humans are born equal and deserve the same basic human rights which are: clean water, food, shelter, and a proper education. We believe the world can and will be a much better place with the right support and systems in place, and we will do everything in our power to make this dream a reality.
What Set's Project 2035 Apart
In the UK alone there is estimated to be over 36,000 poverty-focused charities. Despite the incredibly large number of organisations who are working towards this shared cause, we have yet to identify a single organisation which has stood out by using all 6 principles which are proven to contribute to an organisations success regarding this global crisis. These are the 6 principles and how we will implement all of them within our work at Project 2035:
Focusing on the root causes of poverty - As part of our mission we are dedicated to solving the underlying problems which keep people in poverty. Through our work we aim to ensure that anyone who receives assistance through us can become self-sufficient and no longer needs to be dependent on aid provided by non-profits to survive.
Powerful and effective marketing - Most organisations fail to make a real impact because they do not apply effective marketing to their online presence. We aim to work with marketing professionals to ensure that we consistently provide entertaining content which educates people as well as raises awareness.
Collaboration - Many organisations do not seek partnerships with other organisations or governments. We believe that there is power in collaboration and by uniting tens of thousands of organisations together we can leverage our collective resources and knowledge to finally put an end to poverty.
Dependency on donations - Most organisations are heavily dependent on donations which limits the amount of work they can do. We aim to lead by example by being self-sufficient and not needing to rely on donations of goodwill. As part of our vision we aim to run different business in collaboration with Project 2035 in order to fund ourselves and make sure we can scale our projects consistently without needing to rely on donations to accomplish our objectives.
Transparency - Many organisations do not tell you exactly where funds are going or show you what they have done with those funds. One crucial factor to building trust is transparency. We aim to be as transparent as possible with our work as well as with where funds are being allocated to. This way everyone can know exactly where their contributions are being used and see the impact they are helping to make.
Spreading themselves too thin - Many organisations try to tackle poverty on a global scale when they haven't been successful in finding a solution which is capable of getting a single nation out of poverty. Instead of dividing efforts into so many areas we believe it's best to focus on one place and find a system which works there before scaling operations. Unfortunately we will not be able to get Nigeria completely out of poverty before expanding since we have given ourselves a strict deadline of eradicating poverty by 2035. Although we are certain that this will not be a problem, as by applying all 6 points into our work, we are confident that this mission is destined to be successful.
Through the application of these 6 principles and learning from the successes and failures of other organisations we truly believe that our mission will be a success. We will make sure the results from our work can speak for themselves in due time. To find out more about how we plan to change the world check out our Project page.
